"You've Never Done High Holidays Like This"

The Sanctuary @ Pico Union

If it’s been a few years since you stepped foot in a Jewish space, we think we’ve found the ideal place to welcome in the Jewish New Year.

The Sanctuary @ Pico Union Project defines itself as a God optional, kindness preferred community of seekers, skeptics, doers and dreamers. Led by an extraordinary team of artists and musicians including, Craig Taubman, Rabbi Tova Leibovic Douglas, Shany Zamir, Stuart K. Robinson, Ayo Awosika, Jason Chu and Jeremy Lawrence, it’s likely you’ve never done the High Holidays like this!

"My entire spiritual life, I have longed to come away from High Holiday services feelings something profound. The Sanctuary at Pico Union services give me that and so much more.” commented Mara Z, a Sanctuary participant.

Brandon Gonzalez of Sid the Cat Presents in talking about his work with the Pico Union Project said “In addition to hosting great live concerts, the PUP is home to 4 different faith communities and provides programming for the local neighbors. It’s unlike any other venue we work with.

“I am excited to help create a high holiday service that is creative, joyful, open and impactful. One that uses the ancient Jewish and spiritual wisdom of our liturgy and finds where it intersects within our lives today” said Rabbi Tova Leibovic-Douglas.

The Sanctuary @ Pico Union strives to being a community with open doors and has created A Taste of the Sanctuary, to enables first time visitors to try out Rosh Hashanah services and lunch for a suggested donation of $50.
